Fes & Middle Atlas mountains

Hiking itinerant. Combine a visit to the Imperial City of Fez with a hike in the Middle Atlas! Go with your guide to discover this region of Morocco in spring to better enjoy the advantages of nature!

The medieval town of Fez, the cedar forest and the lakes, relief and alpine meadows of Middle Atlas.

Day 1 : Fez

Airport reception. Transfer to the hotel. Free dinner.

Day 2 : Immouzer / Ain Leuh

After breakfast, transfer day visit to Immouzer and then Ifrane and Cedar de Gouro. We walk in the park of Ifrane and then take the road to Azrou for lunch. We then leave for Ain leuh. We arrive at the end of the afternoon at the lodging in Ain Leuh.

Day 3 : Tighisit / Zaouia Ifrane

After breakfast, we cross the Tizi N'Kharoun Pass to Tighisit, passing by the sheepfolds of Aït Boudraâ. We also pass through the village of Moha or Abdellah. We picnic near the source Tafr N'Ouamane before continuing to Zaouiat Ifrane. 5 hours of walking.

Day 4 : Jbel Zaouit / Dayat N'Ouhol

We climb to the top of Jbel Zaouitt, from the top a beautiful panoramic view is offered to us. We then pass through the holy sidi Mohamed Ben Abdelwahed and the source of Tizgelt. We cross the cedar forest and picnic there before descending to Lake N'Ouhol. Dinner and night in a cottage. 5 hours walk. 500m of climb and as much descent.

Day 5 : Ousradine / Sources Oum Rabiaa

We leave for the salt mines of village Ousradine and then descend on the valley of Tarzout, passing by the sources of Oum Al Rabiaâ (beginning of the biggest river of Morocco). In the afternoon we visit the cave waterfall. Dinner and night at the inhabitant. 5 hours of walking.

Day 6 : Lake Azeguza / Fez

We walk along the wadi and pass through the village of Ait Ahmed and then through the cedar forest to the turquoise lake of Azegza. We picnic there. You then have a free time then we make the transfer to Tiklite and then the departure in Fez. 5 hours of walking.

Overnight at your hotel.

Day 7 : Fez

Guided tour in Fez. We have lunch in a restaurant in the medina. Free dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8 : Transfer to the airport and return flight.

Important :

This itinerary is given as an indication, for various reasons due to inclement weather or others, your guide may have to make changes on the program, if necessary, for the smooth running of your trip.

Formalities :

A passport valid for 3 months from the day of entry into Morocco is required (essential), for nationals of the European Community (no visa).

For minors, they must have their own passport.

If the child is traveling with someone other than his or her parents :

An authorization or a legalized letter to the mayor indicating that their parents allow their child to go on a trip with the person accompanying him / her.

Health :

It is about being in good physical condition. During the hike, it is necessary to be self-sufficient and take with you a medicine kit (dressings, aspirin, anti-inflammatory, antibiotics, anti-diarrhea, total screen, lip balm, disinfectant tablets, eye drops).

Water and drinks :

The supply of water is made in sources, its treatment is recommended (type Micropur). Tea is served at the arrival of the stage. In the evening a tea is offered after the meal.

Portage :

Each participant walks on foot with a light backpack, containing only the personal belongings necessary for the day (gourd, camera, pharmacy kit ...). The remainder of the equipment and the bivouac equipment, as well as the refueling, are transported by vehicle.

All our prices vary according to the number of participants.

The price indicated will be definitive (there will be no surprises of the additional costs!).

Framing :

A professional guide qualified by a training center for mountain trades (CFAMM) will accompany you. You will be assisted by a heater and a cook.

Your guide will wait for you at the airport upon your arrival.

Money and tips :

Currency is the Dirham. 1 € = 10.60 Dh.

Allow cash to pay for your drinks and meals if not included in the estimate, and for tips for the team accompanying you during your hike.

Accommodation :

For this tour, we will be accommodated in gites and at the inhabitant.

In the city of Fez: nights in a 3 * hotel (based on Moroccan classification), in a double or triple room. There is possibility in single room / tent for an extra charge.

Clothing and small items :

It is necessary to wear good quality shoes "hiking in the mountains". It is hot during the day but the nights can be cool. It is therefore advisable to provide outfits accordingly: Anorak - polar - jogging - T-shirts - Bermudas - hat or chèque, and sunglasses.

Headlamp, spare bulbs and batteries, lighter to burn litter, sunscreen for skin and lips, toiletries, toilet paper.

Meals :

They will be prepared by a cook who will accompany you during the entire hike. Made with fresh products, they are mainly composed of salads cooked in midday and local dishes in the evening (couscous, tagine ...). A full breakfast is served before starting the day. Dry fruits (dates, dried figs, peanuts & pralines) are offered to the participants during the hike.

Materials to be provided :

Cloisonne sleeping bag, normal use 0 to -5 ° C - Hiking sticks if you wish - tennis or sandal with good soles to walk in the water courts - A rain cape.

Travel and Transportation :

Transfers are carried out in taxi, in group-reserved minibuses, or private 4x4. For your comfort and safety all vehicles have a tourist transport approval.

Always ask for permission before photographing a person.

It is forbidden to photograph or film anything that is military.

Digital cameras: Have enough memory and batteries.
